meet green janie
Meet Jane Marks-Hastig, a
green-minded artist who specializes in upcycling reclaimed glass. What does that mean? Jane uses salvaged, broken tempered glass and other discarded materials to create glass-on-glass mosaics and other functional art pieces. She is especially recognized for her tree-themed artwork, in which she draws inspiration from the beautiful woods in Northern Minnesota. Jane also offers a line of products that feature the beauty of broken glass, including the That's How I Roll My Dough pastry rolling pin, That's How I Glow Good Karma Mood Lighting for indoor and outdoor ambiance, and Broken-Glass Slippers for beautiful home or office accent pieces. Heavy on whimsy, Jane's upcycled, repurposed work is a wink and a nod at nature and the world around us and a reminder to see the things we throw away in a different light—what would have been ugly trash becomes something that sparkles beautifully in the sunlight.

living green with janie: latest blog entryBlame Valentine’s Day - but love is on my mind.
Specifically who and what I love and the time devoted to them. I guess this falls under the prioritizing I have been doing since our little fire last August. I had to make a decision about nearly every item in every room. If I didn’t love it or need it- I wanted to get rid of it. I found out I didn’t love as many of my things as I thought I did. . about green janie |
